Press Release-International Fun Day

For Immediate Release:

The Unity Centre International Fun Day, Saturday 1st November 2014

The Unity Centre is holding an International Fun Day on Saturday 1st November to celebrate Chester’s cultural diversity and international community. A fantastic variety of entertainment and holistic activities will be on offer including: Reiki, Tai Chi, Calligraphy, Origami, Indian dancing, Henna painting and Kimono dressing.

Keep the kids entertained with face painting and traditional Ghanaian storytelling while grown-ups can learn the art of Chinese Dumpling making or just sit back with a ‘knit & natter’ session. If this doesn’t whet your appetite you can indulge the senses in a global smorgasbord of food and traditional handicrafts from around the world. There’s even a ‘Health and Wellbeing room’ offering Blood Pressure tests by the Stroke Association alongside the holistic therapies on offer.

Shantele Janes, Director of Cheshire Halton & Warrington Race & Equality Centre said:
‘We have put on this International Fun Day to encourage people to come and see what we are all about and what we can offer. It will be a fantastic day for all the family and an opportunity for people to gain an understanding of the range of different cultures in the Chester area. We have a really varied programme of activities, most of which are free for people to take part in’.

Cllr Bob Rudd, The Lord Mayor of Chester, is looking forward to attending the event, which takes place on Saturday 1st November is from 11am until 4 pm at the Unity Centre 17, Cuppin Street, Chester. All are welcome to learn about the Unity Centre’s work, meet new people and above all have fun! Visit or to find out more.
